No roads lead to the parts of the athabasca river you will travel on this Jasper river rafting expedition. Raft Jasper's white water on the Athabasca River through places you can only reach by boat. This guided rafting tour takes you through two exciting sets of rapids (wear your bathing suit!) linked by a serene stretch through the canyon. Take in the Canadian Rocky Mountain scenery only paddlers and wildlife get to witness.

What to Expect on the Athabasca Falls River Rafting Run

Starting at the base of the Athabasca Falls, raft 15 km down the majestic Athabasca Valley. This 3-hour rafting round trip provides spectacular canyon scenery that combined with moderate rapids, make this an adventure trip ideal for the whole family. After a 30-minute bus drive from Jasper, you'll be suited up in your rafting gear and receive a safety talk. Then there is a 5-minute portage down a road (built for Marilyn Monroe!) to the river.

The Athabasca river trip starts with the first set of river rapids only being seconds away. Once these rapids have soaked everyone in the raft, you'll find yourself in a spectacular canyon only seen from the Athabasca river. For the next 30-minutes, a combination of rapids and flat sections you can enjoy the scenery and enjoy the natural surroundings. It is just you and Athabasca river. The Athabasca Falls river rafting trip ends with another set of rapids and amazing views of the Athabasca River valley. Once back on the highway, it is about 20 minutes to the townsite.
